hi there, folks: I'd really like to release 0.7.0 but I would like it to be at least a little bit tested before I do so. Could those of you with CVS trees check everything out and see if it performs as advertised? Deeper bugs than that will have to wait for the next release, but I'd at least like to know if it works for someone other than me. This solution didn't work because 'transport' isn't a property of the Example class. I'm currently in the process of changing from a customized SimpleXMLRPCServer to a twisted XMLRPC server solution and I need to insert the client IP into the attributes passed to the called xmlrpc method. [Twisted-Python] Simple multiplex-relayer with twisted.protocols.smtp?

Good day, hackers. I'm trying to implement a rather simple, localhost-bound mail relay with Twisted. The setup is follows: Internet --- MTA -> multiplexer (*) -> parallel filters -> MTA -> dest. Multiplexer marked with (*) is my doing. Filters are independent systems which accept mail according to destination domain and do their magic according to domain-wide settings. Different domains can have completely separate configs and even backends. I have read and tried to use existing sample from http://twistedmatrix.com/pipermail/twisted-python/2003-October/005885.html and the surrounding thread, but unfortunately have not been so far able to get the system working. Basically the system should be rather trivial: accept everything, regardless of sender or recipient (frontal MTA has already bounced incorrect mails). Check recipient and forward to matching filter set. Use smtp.ESMTP for inbound, smtp.SMTPClient for outbound. However, the code snippet below freaks out. It now accepts unconditionally both sender and recipient but issuing DATA causes an immediate stacktrace with the following last error: File "/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/twisted/protocols/smtp.py", line 625, in do_DATA assert self.delivery exceptions.AssertionError: Tracing the problem, it is apparent that there is no delivery method in use and incidentally, this was apparently the bugging reason in the original (a year old now) problem. Call me stupid but I couldn't fix this by following the example and responses. Version of Twisted in use: 1.3, as packaged for Debian. (In time we'll get 2.0 as well.) Any help will be appreaciated. The leap from very simple Finger examples to smtp parts is rather long and steep... [Twisted-Python] PyMedia & Tk - based mp3 sound recorder

I've tried to write a simple sound recorder for python. Basically, it just reads sound from mic or line in, and encodes it to mp3 on the fly. See http://pymedia.org/tut/src/voice_recorder.py.html for a simple example I've taken the pymedia recorder code from. Works nicely - but no GUI etc. of course. I've added a very simple Tk-base GUI using twisted, using task.LoopingCall to drive the recorder loop that reads chunks data from sound device and encodes them. The problem is that the sound is now garbled - it sounds as if the loop is not fast enough or it's dropping some sound data. Apart from twisted and Tk integration, the code should be essentially the same as the original example that works fine. I''ve tried with different task looping frequencies and even added Psyco optiomization to the code, and all this has made but tiny difference -and my PC is an AMD 2400+ with plenty of memory so I would think speed is not the issue here; the encoding preferences are mono, 22050Hz and 64kbit/s. The source code (about 120 lines in all) is attached - any advice or improvement suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have a twistd-based web server by running a web.tap file like this: $twistd -o -f web.tap -l /var/log/twistd.log Great, it works. Then, I use cx_freeze to freeze it. $FreezePython --install-dir freeze_twistd twistd That is ok, lots of *.so have been copied into freeze_twistd/*. After moving those all into another machine, and run the executable $freeze_twistd/twistd I got complains on missing some modules. I realized that those twisted/* don't be freezed. Then, I try: $FreezePython --include-modules=cgi,calendar,twisted --install-dir=freeze_twistd twistd That is ok too. But twisted still not been included. Any suggestion? Thanks in advance. Iap. BTW: I searched google with keywords "twisted freeze", "twistd freeze". Not so many hits.
