Some of you may have noticed that www.python.org got defaced today. We also believe that the site has been used for some time to trade warez, but we do not think that it was rooted. We believe we have closed the holes and repaired the damage. Access to some of the accounts on the machine have been disabled, but those folks know who they are and how to get them re-enabled. Capitalisation of Decimal class

I just had a thought regarding the Decimal class. If the longer-term intention is to move the class into the core, then would it be sensible to name the class "decimal" (lowercase) rather than "Decimal"? The situation seems similar to the set class, which undergoes a capitalisation change in 2.4 in a similar manner. I think I found what might be a bug in the changes made to readline or in some change made to threads. Something changed after the different readline interface and the unmasking of non-main threads. Should I do this with the bug-manager or should I post here?

Undo indenting of macros in Include/pyport.h?

If you look at Include/pyport.h and its symbol visibility section (e.g., PyAPI_DATA, the reason I noticed this) you will notice that a bunch of macro definitions have tabs between the # sign and the start of whatever the macro is about ('define', 'if defined', etc.). In of itself it's fine, valid C code. But unless you grep without the # sign you are not going to find definitions in there using grep. Windows installer for 2.4?

With the move to using VC 7.1 for Python builds, I believe I read there was a move to use the Microsoft Installer instead of the Wise installer. Looking in the PCbuild directory, I did not see any new installer files. Does anyone have a .vdproj file for packaging the current build? Thanks, Mark
