Python patch 914575 (https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=305470&aid=914575&group_i…) adds the ability to generate HTML side by side file differences (full or contextual) to the difflib.py module. In #--the meantime, people can just convert to strings and back... which is #--easy to explain and to implement, although it probably #--suffers from minor #--rounding problems (I haven't really thought it through). Hello Python developers, I have been learning my way through new style type in Python, but it hasn't been exactly easy. SHA-256 module

Patch #935454 is a module implementing SHA-256, a variant of the 160-bit SHA algorithm supported in Python's existing sha module. Though it's more recent than the original SHA-160, SHA-256 is just as "standard"; both algorithms are specified by a NIST document. The submitter comments: The difference is that it produces a 256 bit hash value, instead of a 160 bit hash value. There are three 7-bit ASCII characters not used in Python: "@", "$", and "?". Please don't waste one of them for the special purpose of decorators: @[staticmethod] def fun(args): ... To me "@" says "not python". I use it in templates that generate Python code. -1 for "@" in decorators.
