Doubts from Mailman Docs

While going through the User Guide Manual for Mailman at* http://docs.mailman3.org/en/latest/userguide.html <http://docs.mailman3.org/en/latest/userguide.html>,* I couldn't properly understand 2 points: Q.1 (Related to Delivery Mode setting in List Settings Page) If a user has selected to get *"Plain Text Digests": *What happens to the messages involving multimedia/any content other than ASCII text sent in the Mailing List for this user? Does he receive them in his Digest or not? If Yes, How?(in some binary format or what?) Q.2. (Related to Getting copies of Own posts) I saw a note in the documentation of the same, stating 'This option has no effect if you are receiving digests.' I am not fully clear about what this meant. Please give me some insights into these. Also, Having read all sections of the Mailman 3.1 documentation thoroughly, I am highly impressed by the simplicity of language, ordering and the way the whole documentation has been written. Hi Mailman Developers, After receiving self-introductory emails from the list, I finally realize that I shall do the same too. This is Xiaoxing from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. I am currently a Year 4 student major in Computer Science, while I am having my Gap Year so I am expected to graduate next year. I have heard Mailman for a year, and once made a tutorial on running Mailman 3 on AWS with Docker (https://xiaoxing.us/2018/01/01/deploy-mailman-3-on-aws-using-docker/). After the post, I received some questions about it, and I became interested on the development. And days before, the GSoC 2019 organisations were published. It sparked my willing to contribute. I am now a webmaster of another open source project (AOSC), and I love Open Source. I have being using Python and Flask (another web framework) to build different projects both for my university and some other groups. I think for this GSoC, I would work on REST Callback and, if time allows, apply Gunicorn to the API. The former one must be hard but I like challenges. Detailed proposal will be posted days later as I am still working on it. Even if I fail, I would love to help review MRs and give suggestions. Long-term contributions are expected. And BTW my GitLab account is @Yexiaoxing (https://gitlab.com/Yexiaoxing), while I frequently use GitHub with the same account (https://github.com/Yexiaoxing). Regarding GSoC 2019

Hello everyone, Myself Nayan Khanna, a 2nd year student at BITS Pilani currently pursuing Bachelor's of Engineering in Computer Science and Integrated MSc. Mathematics. Over the past two years, I have done projects, made REST APIs in Django, Django Rest Framework and Flask and hosting web applications using Nginx and Gunicorn. Apart from this, I have programming experience in Python, C, C++, JavaScript and have basic knowledge of Frontend Technologies HTML and CSS. I have good knowledge of Relational Databases like MySQL, SQL Server and version control systems Git and Gitlab. I have been using Ubuntu from ~2 years and am highly comfortable in it. My github handle is nayan2000 <https://github.com/nayan2000> and Gitlab: Nayan-Khanna <https://gitlab.com/Nayan-Khanna>. I have set up all the parts of Mailman Codebase and have the Mailman running well locally. Also, I have read the docs thoroughly. I want to contribute in the Mailman Codebase. I had a look at the GSoC ideas page too. To get more familiarity with the Codebase, I would like to solve issues/bugs. Please allocate me some issue/bug to start with. Regards Nayan Khanna

Hi there, I was trying to setup Mailman Core. I successfully cloned the repository from gitlab and downloaded it locally. Then I executed the command python setup.py develop.. . . . I think restarting mailman core can help. Gsoc introduction

Hey, I am Uwais Zaki, a sophomore at IIT Roorkee. I have experience in developing web applications using the python frameworks, Django and DjangoRestFramework and javascript frameworks, React. I find your projects interesting and would like to participate in GSOC with mailman. How do I proceed further?

Confusing definition of "subscribers"

In /lists/, it prompts that "Only lists that you are owner,moderator or subscriber for are shown here", but I see a list which I was only sent a email to or has not request a subscription. Also in /accounts/subscriptions/, that list appears as "nonmember", but not in the "list-based preferences". So what's the definition of subscribers? Is it defined as who has interaction with the list?

Members unsubscribed still showing up in Client.Users?

I unsubscribed a couple of users from a mailing list but they are still showing up upon doing client.users. These users had joined only one mailing list.
