Backup mailman

First of all I wish to confirm that I do not understand MM 100% and also I do not know python. I has lost a complete list (user & confs) because a corrupt config.db. For this reason I has just made a small script that create a backup.tar.gz of each list config and subscriber-list. (a patched list_lists (list_names) and a bash script) I think this backup script to be run one time a day. That seems a confusing use of the > feature. :) You're skipping the extesnsible and flexible wonder that is MS Outlook and the population's capacity to properly configure their own mail systems. The times I've seen this done they gang two lists -- one a public list, and the other an internal list that the HelpDesk is subscribed to, with the internal list set with privacy options and REply-To. Depends how you implement it. If you use the plug-it-into-mailman approach, then yes, its site specific. Mailman, majordomo, mhonarc - Questions about conversion

Would someone mind confirming my suspicion that the ability to use an external archiver is SITE and not LIST specific? We have a few lists here that wish to use the mailman html/archive process and a few legacy lists that need to maintain the majordomo/mhonarc process. If anyone out there has gone from a majordomo/mhonarc configuration to use mailman - but still maintains the mhonarc utilities as an external archiver and majordomo's mbox archiving - would you mind dropping me a line so I can pester you with a few small questions? Stripping Received headers on anonymous lists

[originally posted to -users, but I figured -developers is probably a better forum for it] I mentioned this once before and the general response I got was "it uses them for loop detection, so it leaves them alone", but for anonymous lists (especially ones dealing with sensitive subjects) those received headers can easily give away the identity of the person sending the message, which is a Bad Thing. The X-Been-There flag SHOULD be catching looping, so I'm not worried if this "loop detection of last resort" is removed. This really (IMHO) should be there if we want to be able to consider anonymous lists anonymous. Right now, they're WORSE than anonymous because they give the ILLUSION of anonymity. :( Any thoughts on how this could be done? Still trying to install bowa-strip in filters, which I think just got deleted out of the repositor? I saw it go by earlier in the update, but wasn't really paying attention to the keys on the items, so dunno if it was a D or not...
