You can find links to the projects and how to set them up. In case of any doubts you can ask here or on #mailman @ freenode IRC. For the specific project you are interested in, you are right to get to the examples in mailman.client. The simplest explanation would be that we need a JavaScript port of mailman.client. Help with Continuous Integration for Mailman Suite[GSoC 2015]

Hello again everyone on mailman-developers and congratulations for entering GSoC as a mentoring organization! I have been around for a couple of months in the community and have tried getting acquainted with the codebase and the MM way in general. Lately I started reading up on CI (mostly Buildbot and Jenkins a bit less) and how it exactly worked plus the past archives regarding it. Still I feel I could use more resources on MM and CI integration as I feel that CI could prove useful to the project and save time for everyone that works on it. I could use some help with some specific questions though, mainly 1.Does the software in question need to support all SCM currently used by the suite or will multiple ones will be used for different SCMs? 2.Does the software need to work well with tox or will there be a change on that part? 3.Apart from Sqlite3 and PostgreSql support, what other databases are working with Mailman? From what i have gathered the last two months, there are some MySql implementations together with the default but is there any other Database which could need porting during the duration of SoC? All resources and discussions are appreciated since they will help me form a better idea of Mailman working together with Continuous Integration. Regards Konstantinos N , soul_less on freenode.net.

Getting Introduced to the Community

Hi, My name is Prakhar Agarwal and I would like to introduce myself to the developers of this community. I'm (technically) a junior at Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilani. I am well versed with Python, C/C++, Machine Learning, PHP and bash. I have been using the mailman and now I'm comfortable with it. I was very much fascinated with the concept of Anonymous mail and wanted to explore it more and what could be a better way to start off than writing an algorithm and seeing it in action. I was having a look at the GSoC 2015 ideas <http://wiki.list.org/DEV/Google_Summer_of_Code_2015> page and the particular project of Anonymous lists <http://wiki.list.org/DEV/Google_Summer_of_Code_2015>. I have also tried setting up the mailman development environment and got the Web interface running. Announcing the new wiki.list.org

I am very happy to announce our new wiki! If you go to wiki.list.org you will see our shiny new Moin-based wiki. We are retiring the old Confluence-based wiki at the end of February. Until then, you can access it at old-wiki.list.org. Our very huge thanks go to Paul Boddie who did the amazing conversion work, almost single-handedly reverse engineering the Confluence dump through several iterations. Of course, our thanks also go to John Viega, owner of the list.org domain and Mailman's inventor for helping us get the DNS flipped over. Thanks too to everyone who gave feedback on the new wiki, contributed to the old wiki, and continue to help edit this important resource for the Mailman community. Our thanks also go to the Python Software Foundation and the PSF infrastructure team for providing us with the virtual machine hosting our new wiki. If you had write access to the old wiki and want it again for the new wiki, you will have to re-submit a request to mailman-cabal(a)python.org. Please be sure to register with wiki.list.org and provide us with your user name. With this conversion, I am happy to say that GNU Mailman is finally fully hosted on free software. While we appreciate the years of service donated to us by Atlassian and Contegix, it's important that we set an example by utilizing an entirely free software stack for our development and outreach. Its fairly easy to setup a python virtual environment, as it is one of the most standard ways of developing python based projects. If you are setting up mailman development environment, you don't need to install it. You can just run `mailman start` inside the root directory of the source to start your mailman server.
