Understanding the codebase(GSOC 2015)

Hello I am Computer Science and Engineering 3rd year student at G. B. Pant Engineering College. I want to understand the codebase of mailman. I use pdb for debugging and I have already cloned the source code of mailman core from launchpad. I want to go through the working of code line by line. Can you tell me how to set up mailman core and debugging it? I use git for version control, do I need to learn bzr or git is sufficient for the project? Error in setting up mailman-core

Hi, My name is Ashish Kumar. I want to start my contribution to mailman codebase. I tried setting up postorius but black-perl(irc) told me I need to start mailman from mailman core then I installed mailman-core and followed the documentation given in the docs folder. I followed below instructions : 1. virtualenv --system-site-packages --python=python3.4 /tmp/mm3 2. source /tmp/mm3/bin/activate 3. python setup.py develop 4. Then I tried mailman info -v which is giving me error (gist: https://gist.github.com/coolyashish/080af27838b7f31b65f1) Can someone please tell me how to correct it. Thanks Ashish Kumar

Mailman setup : SyntaxError: invalid syntax

Hi, I'm Vlad Shablinsky. I study computer science in Belarusian State University and I'm new to Mailman. I've been trying to set up Mailman but got some errors. Firstly, I'm running OS X 10.10. I followed these steps: 1. http://wiki.list.org/DEV/Mac%20Mailman%20development%20setup%20guide 2. http://wiki.list.org/DEV/A%205%20minute%20guide%20to%20get%20the%20Mailman%… I can't setup Postorius and start the development server. Here is the error that I have when I run `python setup.py develop` in the postorius directory. (All the steps before seemed to be ok. At least I could run `mailman start` and follow the mailman.client step). Hi Abhilash, No, I wasn't running mailman on a virtual environment. I will try setting up mailman again. It would have been great if the wiki also mentioned the steps to set-up a virtual environment. IMHO, one can easily google it still mentioning it in the wiki is better. I will be happy to add the documentation for the same. That doesn't seem like a great idea, and I don't recall it doing that. Check to see if /usr/bin/master is a Python script and part of Mailman. If it isn't we need to figure out why Python is trying to run it.
