I've seen similar questions posted, but none have really answered my question: I have set up a mailing list on computer, say server2.school.edu. For any list that I create, messages that get sent to that list are sent out with a Reply-To of list(a)school.edu, which corresponds to server1.school.edu, which is not accepting email for lists. How do I get the reply-to to be list(a)server2.school.edu? Is that a mailman config issue, or a sendmail config issue? Thanks, Gus Scheidt

Hello all, I've looked through the archives of this list and have not been able to find a solution to my Mailman problem. I get two tracebacks: 1 from senddigests and the other from checkdbs (both from cron). Message not being sent to all members of the list

CGI problem, customizing welcome message

Hi there. I just installed Python/Mailman. I have one issue that I can't figure out though: I can't "save" a list config through the CGI interface. I can load up and display a list configuration, but when I make a change and submit I'm just kicked back to the password screen and none of the change made it to config.db. Everything else works good; Postfix delivers to the wrapper fine, and I can use the bin/config_list command to "export/import" any config changes I want to do. Am I missing something? ~mailman/logs/error is empty, and the Apache error_log is silent as well. Platform: SunOS vice 5.7 Generic_106541-08 sun4m sparc SUNW,SPARCstation-20 Finally, I prefer the bin/config_list style of configuration anyhow, and wouldn't mind disabling everything related to the web GUI (on a per list level). I would like to be able to send out a welcome message to new subscribers but not have any mention of the web GUI. I guess I want to supply the entire welcome message. Can I accomplish this somehow? On a related note, can the unsubscribe command be setup to not require a password, but use a confirmation style mode of operation (something like what majordomo or listserv do)? Anyhow, a couple minor problems, but overall the software looks great. I love the direct SMTP injection of mail and the ability to handle Postfix bounce (I grabbed the latest sources from CVS). Thanks... nope... didn't get anything.... I then used the check_perms utility, which found some problems with hidden files.. but still getting an error. Wow.. that was cool. I _did_ have some file permission errors on hidden files (root as owner). sendmail exit 2 error on lists

All - I did make that migration from majordomo to Mailman 1.2 beta 1 (checked out of cvs on 02/23/00) and only ran into one issue. One of my users had the following email address while using majordomo: "Tim O'Flynn/DUB/xxxx" <Tim_O'Flynn(a)xxxx.com> I used the bin/add_members script to import the list. This had no problems. SendmailHandlerError : 2 Also, a MAILER-DEAMON error was sent to the sender whenever they posted to the list. The error showed the above trace back and that a shell error had occured while processing the mail. Any thoughts on how to solve this? It should be easy to replicate. If someone writes a patch and it get's commited to cvs I'll update my copy and confirm the patch works. BTW, once again, I know I've said it before, THANK YOU FOR AN OUTSTANDING PRODUCT. Oh, I'm using postfix as my mail agaent, btw. Running Mailman

Greetings all, I'm brand new to this list but not brand new to using Mailman. Over a year ago I started a woodworking list that utilized Mailman 1.1 and only recently did my ISP pull the plug on it and left me and 320 of my members stranded. Accordingly, I pulled out of that ISP and went to another but they don't use Mailman...yet. However, just this morning I thought of another option. Suppose I installed the Mailman the software on my computer here in my office and RX'd and TX'd the posts from here instead of having my ISP provide it. Is this doable?
