BTW how can I add taglines, i.e. random strings picked frpm a text file
where they lies every one on a separate line. ALmost every list manager
has tag lines administration, but I did not find them in mailman...

I can't get to the pending request page for a mailing list.
(My web clients just say "waiting for response" and finally give up.)
I think it is because there are too many pending requests after some
problems. (config.db is almost 10MB.)
How can I do this some other way?
Hi,
i do have a really urgent Problem with my Mailman. Actually everythings working fine except of sending the mails to the list-members.
I get following failure in the smtp-failures log:
Oct 12 19:49:11 2002 (2292) delivery to Christian(a)malibu-2002.de failed with code 553: 5.3.0 <mailingliste-bounces(a)malibu-2002.de>... No such user here
what might be a problem is, that i have activated smtp auth for preventing relaying.
can anybody help me?

Christ
We are an ISP and we have several clients requesting a mailing
list. Often, the names collide. No problems with email addresses, we
know how to configure Postfix to have info(a)company.com and
info(a)npo.org point to different mailboxes.
But I cannot do the same with Mailman. Mailing lists are apparently
unique, whatever the domain is. So, I must create info-company and
info-npo and set a different host_name for each list. Not a big deal
except that this name appears in messages sent and
info-company(a)company.com is not really elegant.
I tried changing real_name. As its documentation said, it is
discouraged and, indeed, it does not work (the original name still
appears in messages).
I have a list that I'd like to enforce a set of headers on. In other words, each message subject must start with a certain word in order be posted. Has anybody found a way to do this? I know I can block messages with certain headers, but I want to block all messages and only allow those with the approved headers. If anybody has a great idea how to accomplish this, please pass it on ...

Hi all,
Quick question: I've looked through most of the options available
to a list admin, and I can't find one to disable the monthly password
reminders. I know this sounds like a bad idea, but we have a secretary
who maintains quite a few mailing lists for out department, and we'd like
to switch her over to mailman. However, we probably don't want students
to be able to unsubscribe themselves from certain of our announcement-type
mailing lists. Any ideas? Am I missing something simple?
Thanks much,

Hi,
My mailman list is host through hostway. It seems that some of the peopple subscribed to my list are no longer receiving emails posted by the poster (the owner-myself) but there is no indication on my end that these messages are being bounced back. Any suggestions as to why this may be happening?

dear Mailman,
I currently use your Mailman software at work , through my univesity
system, and a fabulous system it is indeed. Do you have any equivalent
software that would work on the web, but not using the linux operating
system? Anything more user friendly for us computer morons?
Cheers
