I've installed mailman (2.0.8, I'll update once I get it working) on solaris7. It passes the build and permission tests. The apache config file has Alias /mailman/ "/etc/mailman/cgi-bin/" ScriptAlias /mailman/ "/etc/mailman/cgi-bin/" but when I go to http://hostname/mailman I get a "Not Found" and the web logs show File does not exist: /usr/private/htdocs/mailman I had a similar problem with something called netsaint that requires similar configurating. I resolved it by making a link from the htdocs/netsaint to the actual install dir. Is mailman the same way? The INSTALL docs don't say so (and besides, where is the index.html in the cgi-bin directory) In other words what is the first thing to run when you connect to mailman, what are the hooks into it for apache to know to run it? generating personalized mailing

Hi, Is it possible to send an email to a mailman mailinglist using mm-tags? I was hoping to use mm-2.0.5-prof-0.7, the profile patch to make this possible. So I would like to send an email to all the subscribers on my mailinglist, starting with Dear <mm-p-realname>, Any suggestions? Justin

Admin mail interface?

Forgive me if this has been discussed already, but I wonder about a mail interface for admin functions like approving subscription requests. It would be really convenient if the list owner could simply reply with some incantation to the notice that there is a request pending. Does this feature already exist? I didn't see it mentioned in the listed features or in the feature request database.

RedHat mm_cfg.py & GIU

RedHat 7.2, latest Mailman I changed the group of my www tree and confused Mailman. Can't I force Mailman to use a different group than it was install with via the mm_cfg.py config file? The GID that is expected belongs to apache, but now it see the group ID of webmaster. Changing the www tree back to apache did not help MM. Must I reinstall to fix this?
