Errors in nightly gzip

I am getting errors in my nightly gzip job. Any ideas what is causing it? Check-perms does not find any errors. Changing Digest Standard Headers

Can the template that produces the message.... You can reach the person managing the list at odnet-owner(a)lists.odnetwork.org ...be modified or, better, deleted? How? It appears in digests but not regular messages. There doesn't seem to be an option to suppress or select it. Editing templates via the web

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi all, One thing that's been troubling for me running mailman via a web host, is the lack of ability to edit templates for more than just the listinfo, subscribe, and options html pages since I don't have access to just copy and edit the files from a shell like I would on servers I control. For example, when I'm setting up an announcement list, it's important to me to be able to edit subscribeack.txt so I can remove the part about posting to the list. I was curious about doing this via the web so I took a look at ~mailman/Mailman/Cgi/edithtml.py. Like the other parts of mailman I've looked at, the code is really easy to follow -- even for someone that doesn't really know python (which is a great credit to all the mailman developers. ;-) I added another entry to the template_data array (or list or what's it called in python? :). Then I visited the web page for editing templates and there was my link to the subscribeack.txt file. I edited it and saved and it sure looks like it worked without any problems. So my question is: why not allow more template editing via the web for those folks who use mailman via a webhost? What issues are there with allowing a list admin to edit these files -- over and above the issues that might be raised with the templates they already can edit, that is? Not knowing the code well the worst thing I can think of is that the admin could mess up their templates and give themselves a headache. If that's it, perhaps a simple function that would revert to the default template would alleviate this concern. Umbrella lists: problems when unsubscribing

Hello! Need some help with umbrella lists (I think it was discussed earlier in the list but it is not covered in the umbrella faq): For example I have an umbrella list U, which has members - the email addresses of other lists - A, B, C. I configured A, B, C to receive mail from U without moderation (privacy options), so everything works ok. Now consider some userA, who is a member of A sublist, wants to unsubscribe, so he sends mail with subj="unsubscribe" to U-request(a)mylistserver.com and gets a response that he is not a member of U!!! This problem can be solved by providing the necessary email addresses in the footers of every sublist: <footer of A> Unsubscribe address: A-request(a)mylistserver.com <footer of U> <empty> but it is inconvenient when there are many sublists (>10), and besides it's better for userA to assume he is a member of U. So any suggestions?

??? Mailman in parallel on Unix and Linux ???

Question: Our Web server is a Linux box with Apache/1.3.23. (Linux 2.4.18acl #16 SMP Fri Jul 5 13:40:24 CEST 2002 i686 unknown) Our mail server is a unix machine (SunOS 5.5.1 Generic_103640-28 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-60) Is there any change to install mailman/2.1.1 and handle both systems? (SunOS for incoming mails to mailing lists and Linux for Web GUI) Thanks for any idea. Hi guys, I'm trying to figure out if I can set the admin options on mailman through email? My hosting provider's mailman config is a bit choked up and isn't generating the html admin pages correctly, but it seems that the list may actually be working anyway, so I was wondering whether i could set it up via email at all. incorrect 'from'

MM Commands Question
