Hide list address?

Hi, Is there any way to configure Mailman such that, for an announcement-only type list, when a message is sent to the list, the To: shows the member's address, rather than the list address? Some list software allows the ability to hide the list address itself, so that address is not advertised. I couldn't find any configuration specific to that.

Membership Management And Other Problems.

Greetings, I cannot "Set everyone's moderation bit, including those members not currently visible" to on, in the membership management section in any list. I have set OWNERS_CAN_ENABLE_PERSONALIZATION = 1 In /Mailman/mm_cfgy.py But still have the same problem. Also I cannot set or unset digest for all users, any thing I overlooked? This was happening before the changes made in the next issue explained below. In the last couple of days we had to reconfigure reverse mapping in DNS for the server, and now the URLs that Mailman builds in the list admin and info pages are pointing to the old host name, is there a way of correcting this, without re-installing mailman from scratch? Any pointers, clues will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your assistance.

Where is 'reject' message stored

One of my associates set up content filters to reject attachments and other things. He created a custom message to explain this. Now he wants to change the message, but I cannot locate which file in /mailman holds the text (and I did look at all of them). Can somebody tell me how I could find it. I do know text fragments. Mailman/pipermail/MHonArc integration issue

Hi, I am using the Mailman/pipermail/MHonArc integration patchs found at http://www.openinfo.co.uk/mailman/index.html and have been seeing the following issue. When I run bin/arch --wipe listname it correctly builds the html for each month section unless there is only a single message for the month. The output shows: figuring article archives 2004-May Warning: Could not parse date for message Message-Id: <f7589c774a9bf75f62148a712f1140fd(a)NO-ID-FOUND.mhonarc.org> This only seems to happen if there is just one message for that month. I also see the same error in the error log on all incoming messages that are sent to the archiver. Warning: Could not parse date for message Message-Id: <4173763d54406fe2a588db538ad84586(a)NO-ID-FOUND.mhonarc.org> The message shows up in the html, but the subject and sender are missing from the toc. • [no subject] , Unknown - Sat May 01 14:28:54 2004 Also all of the header lines are missing from the message page. I just get a heading of [no subject]. I am using mailman 2.1.4 with the following patches which all seemed to apply cleanly. modinc-2.1.4-0.1.patch indexing-2.1.4-0.1.patch htdig-2.1.4-0.1.patch mhonarc-2.1.4-0.1.patch Is anyone else seeing this issue? I have been beating on this for a few days and any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Even Cpanel should let Mailman dump out the user lists for you. There is a Mailman commandline that specifically does that (list_members). The command to dump out your configuration to text is config_list. Your admin can dump the config out, edit the fields that change (URL and default host names - the list name, if that changes) then simply create a list with the same name and upload the config file using config_list again. "from" column question--how can we get our name to appear instead of the email address?

Hello: We are trying to send out a mailman message. When people receive our message, the mailman email address is listed in the from column and people think it's spam. How can we make it so that the name of the person posting is listed in the from column? When I send messages from my Outlook account to any other address its says my name in the From box. When I send messages to the mailman listserv it lists the email address of the listserv in the From box. Please help! Thanks

bogus archive directory messages to mailman list

This is Mailman 2.1.5rc on Linux. I have seen this happen with 2.1.4 as well. Each night nightly-gzip creates a complaint about this: List kunden-alle has a bogus archive_directory: /usr/local/mailman/archives/private/kunden-alle I'm not sure what it means. There's a symlink from private pointing to a non-existant directory in public. I removed that symlink but it still creates the same message. So, what does it want? Do I need to change configuration somewhere? (archiving = no) Or should I have created the directory the symlink was pointing to instead of removing the symlink? (this list was created by copying a list directory with all content and then editing the new list. This way the original archive directory wasn't copied.) Ok, that was one question, probably easily explained. But there's more. This message is obviously sent to the mailman umbrella list which doesn't accept it because the sender (root@<hostname>) is not a member of the list. Should I add it to the list, should I do something else? I just created that list as I was told in some Mailman setup instruction. There wasn't anything about adding members in it.
