Hello, I have just noticed that there is one more page that needs changing if I want to keep the layout consistent - "Subscription request confirmed" page. I guess the question is basically the same. How do I hack it? -- Zbigniew Szalbot

"Messages Awaiting Approval" email wildly inaccurate

One of our mailman lists sends a daily message saying that it has over 8,000 waiting messages in the queue. This number increases daily no matter what we do. Trying to go to its moderation page results in a server error. The server error in question is the kind that generally requires the use of mailman/bin/discard in order to get rid of the messages. Actually running mailman/bin/discard deletes only a few messages, and there are no remaining messages in mailman/data after this has been run. But the next day's "waiting messages" email increases, rather than decreasing or remaining constant. I think this is the result of someone manually deleting messages from mailman/data. Is there any way to fix the problem? Thanks Christopher

Problem updating archives

I wanted to remove one user's name (by request) from the list archives, so I used vim to search & replace his name with xxxxx in: /var/lib/mailman/archives/private/mylistname.mbox This worked fine, and I checked and verified that all occurrences were properly replaced within mbox. Then I ran this command to try to regenerate the public HTML files: ~mailman/bin/arch mylistname It appeared to work, all the dates on the HTML files showed the current time and date, except that they still contained the user's name. Evidently it was not drawing from the mbox file that I edited. Where have I gone wrong?

Hide Email Address

A while back I found a patch for mailman that basically hid the email address in the archives converting it to xxx(a)domain.tld I have now moved my mailman installation to a new box because the old one crashed and I am not able to find this patch anywhere else. Does anyone know of a way I can achieve this??

Customizing "Confirm subscription request" page?

Dear all, Is there a way to customize the layout of "Confirm subscription request" page? Once can customize General subscription page, confirmation page which appears after you press subscribe and the options page. However, it does seem that "Confirm subscription request" page is somewho built on the fly. What do I need to do to make sure it receives similar layout/formatting than the rest of the pages? Admin getting bug on one list

I can't get into the admin on a single list. Tried permissions repair, no help. Multi-Part MIME Question

I have two lists that, as far as I can tell from the administrator client, are set up identically. Only one list seems to want to tag the message as a multi-part MIME message, while the other list does not. This happens even then the same content (HTML message) is sent to both lists. This is a multi-part MIME message. --=_reb-r24346DE6-t48DBA0BC Content-type: text/html; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable The above header is added to the message in one list, while not on the other. Can someone direct me to where I should look for settings? or what might trigger such a conversion? We'd prefer the message to go out NOT as a mutli-part MIME message. Delete messages

Hello list Some of my clients send big emails to about 10 lists. The result is to slow down Internet connection. How can I delete the messages that left to be sent? I delete them from mqueue but they come back. We set up mailman-2.1.9-5.3 in fedora v7. Thank you very much Nikos

Trying to Solve AOL Redaction Problem for HTML Emails

I see the patch adding html banners, user_id, list_id (https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=300103&aid=1121257&group_… ) might have worked at one time, but has a few undesireable features "Also needed enable ALLOW_OPEN_SUBSCRIBE option, " says it was last assigned to you Barry. Is there anything that followed this 2005 posting, as this would definitely solve people's problem with redaction from AOL, etc. by allowing HTML in the footer. Unless of course someone has written a script to read the email and pull the id from the mail logs... But no one has said they have, as of yet.
