I am tasked with removing a mailman list using CLI on a cpanel install. When I run the list_lists command in bin I get this: # python list_lists Traceback (most recent call last): File "list_lists", line 44, in ? import paths ImportError: No module named paths How can I get a list of the lists to then proceed to using rmlist? Auto delete

Hi again. Just to give more information: I'm using postfix-to-mailman script. And I have my domain in 'add_virtualhost' variable (in the mm_cfg.py file). I've noticed now that there is a 'virtual-mailman' file at /etc/mailman, but I think it's useless because I'm using postfix-to-mailman. If not, should I fill that file with my lists address? htdig-mailman patch(es) - blank page results only so far

Hiya Mailman Users, This list is so trafficked and since this question is mostly regarding the htdig-mailman patches, it took a big puzzle for me to actually sign up and post :) I am running Mailman 2.1.12 with the following 2.1.12 patches applied (archiver index control/htdig integration) http://www.openinfo.co.uk/mm/patches/444879/index.html http://www.openinfo.co.uk/mm/patches/444884/index.html My method of building and build results were a little rockier than I had hoped for. I utilize FC10 systems mainly and so I wanted to make an FC12 RPM with the patches. I found that the 'Fedora way' of building mailman involved a fairly complex set of patches already, and it would be a lot of effort to find out through relative set of diff and patch to noodle out how to package this in a Fedora manner, so I followed this course of action: Changed a FC10 mailman 2.1.11 spec to only patch these two patches, removing all Fedora specific patches. Changed some symlink behavior to preserve the precious /etc/mailman link *to* a /var/lib/mailman/data/sitelist.cfg target (the FC10 makes the symlink the other direction) Substituted a different init script (the FC10 /etc/init.d/mailman), which does an 'install' of the cron script and then a 'python mailmanctl -s -q start' to start: The configure options for the FC10 spec file looks like so (mmdir=/usr/lib/mailman): ./configure --libdir=%{_libdir} --prefix=%{mmdir} --with-var-prefix=%{varmmdir} --with-config-dir=%{configdir} --with-lock-dir=%{lockdir} --with-log-dir=%{logdir} \ --with-pid-dir=%{piddir} --with-queue-dir=%{queuedir} --with-python=%{__python} --with-mail-gid=%{mailgroup} --with-cgi-id=%{cgiuser} \ --with-cgi-gid=%{cgigroup} --with-mailhost=localhost.localdomain --with-urlhost=localhost.localdomain --without-permcheck So after I got it built I had missed a few things: The %{mmdir}/archives/htdig folder needed to be created to match my mm_cfg.py goodies: USE_HTDIG = 1 HTDIG_HTSEARCH_PATH = '/usr/bin/htsearch' HTDIG_RUNDIG_PATH = '/usr/bin/rundig' HTDIG_CONF_LINK_DIR = '/var/lib/mailman/archives/htdig' OWNERS_CAN_DELETE_THEIR_OWN_LISTS = Yes MTA = 'Postfix' SHORTCUT_ICON = 'xxxxx.png' WEB_HEADER_COLOR = '#3399FF' Then I ran this to create indices (and htdig dbs/symlinks): #!/bin/bash LISTS=`ls /var/lib/mailman/lists` for list in ${LISTS[@]};do /usr/lib/mailman/bin/arch $list done I made a symlink from /var/www/htdig where FC10 puts htdig (3.2.0-0.3.b6.fc10) common files /usr/share/htdig and added to my VirtualHost Apache definition: Alias /htdig/ /usr/share/htdig/ Then ran '/usr/bin/python -v /usr/lib/mailman/cron/nightly_htdig' and great, I was up and had a per list (even private) search form with all my search fields available. I then went to do a search and all I got back was a blank page, no errors in the mailman log nor the Apache error log. I tried passing mail through a public and private list to see if that would 'prime the pump' as it were, but to no avail. Greatly appreciate any insight the group can offer here! Thanks! Pending requests

So, my mailinglists are on http://covisp.net/mailman/ and I want them to be on lists.covisp.net, but I can't remember how to change this. The reason is that the default server for www.covisp.net and covisp.net has changed, but the mail server is still the same machine, and that is the machine that used to be www.covisp.net and the machine that has mailman on it. I can still access most of the admin interface, except for the pending request section which I am able to see, but I am not able to clear any pending requests because the button redirects to 'http://covisp.net' and that redirects to the webserver that doesn't have mailman on it. -- THERE WAS NO ROMAN GOD NAMED "FARTICUS" Bart chalkboard Ep. 5F06

Getting ready to try my first install of mailman on OS-X

Beyond my control is that we are not using OS-X Server. Awaiting a call that will get me access to the machine (remote location) to find out the specifics (Which OS version/etc). All I know is that it is a Mac Mini. Very possible it is Tiger (PowerPC)... So for right now if anyone has any links that I can read up on or hints/tips/suggestions.. Thank you in advance, Johnathen

Hi again. I'm not sure if it makes any difference, but... mailman should resolve a subdomain. I have a contact.enterprise.com subdomain. And I don't have any list.contact.enterprise.com. I mean, Mailman should resolve directly the contact.enterprise.com I have a MX record in enterprise.com DNS server pointing to contact.enterprise.com. And 'contact' machine is where the postfix/mailman is installed. I still stuck on "User unknown in virtual mailbox table". And I can't imagine why this error doesn't happen when I'm using an account (even from another domain) hosted at the same server/machine/postfix. Technical Problem/Question

Hello, I am the moderator of the Telegram List Server. I recently tried to get into the Telegram Administrative Interface to change my password and could not do it. I followed the steps below. I used my password on the Telegram Moderator Authentication page which got me to the Telegram Administrative Database page. Once on this page I clicked on Telegram Administrative Interface. Once this page came up I used the same password for the Telegram Administrative Authentication and the authorization keeps failing. Would you set me up a temporary password that works so that I can reset my password. I have no idea why my password works with the Telegram Moderator Authentication but then doesn't work with the Telegram Administration Authentication? Any help would be appreciated. Hi. I have an weird error here. If I send a message to a list using an email account that "resides" at same email server than Mailman, everything works fine. But if I send a message to a list using a email account from other server/domain, I receive an error "Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table". For example: 1. I have the list.domain.com hosted at machine/server A 2. I have the domain+account alexander(a)blah.com hosted at same machine/server A 3. I send a message to people(a)list.domain.com using alexander(a)blah.com. OK 4. I send a message to people(a)list.domain.com using other(a)other.com. ERROR 5. the account other(a)other.com is ok in Mailman (it's not moderated, etc) So, seems that if I use alexander(a)blah.com the request goes by Mailman, and if not, the request ignores Mailman completely and treat people(a)list.domain.com as an ordinary email address. And, so, seems to be a postfix configuration problem... but... it's hard to me to figure out where is the problem. Could someone help me? Question about subscription requests

Our users are instructed to send an email to members-subscribe(a)tucsongrs.org with their name in the message when they want to subscribe (we are a private list). I, as the list admin, receive the email that there is a request to be approved or disapproved but I cannot see their original message. Is there some way that I can see their message so I know who the requester is? Thank you
