mailman web interface via reverse proxy ; hostname is set properly on list pages, but not on base listinfo

Hello, I have made the mailman web interface accessible via a reverse proxy on a publically-accessible web server. After reading through the documentation and list archives, i set the hostname variables in mm_cfg.py, and fixed the hostnames associated with the existing lists via the withlist tool. On each of the individual list pages (and list headers / footers / etc.) the hostnames are set properly ; in fact, this was very straightforward to do, and works perfectly. However, on the base "listinfo" page the hostname appears to be set as the IP address of the mailman machine (not the reverse proxy), which has repercussions on the interface as a whole. For example, via http://proxy.dom.ain/mailman/admin/list all of the links on the page point (properly) to http://proxy.dom.ain/mailman/admin/list/* as expected ; all except the final "Overview of all ,x.dom.ain mailing lists" link, which points to http://1.2.3.4/mailman/listinfo . Likewise, on http://proxy/mailman/listinfo the header states "1.2.3.4 Mailing Lists", and makes references to "mailing lists on 1.2.3.4", and to contact "mailman(a)1.2.3.4" for problems. How can these base hostnames be changed to reflect the values that are correct (as has been done on the individual lists), instead of the IP address of the machine that mailman is hosted on ? I am running mailman-2.1.9-4.el5 and httpd-2.2.3-43.el5.centos on CentOS 5.5. Create two list with same name

Dear all, Is it possible to create two lists with the same name but in different virtualhost? Reply to sender and list

Hi. I have a particular ml, used by our team to manage the info requests that arrive to info(a)ourdomain.tld Actually the ml is configured to set the reply-to to the sender, so you have to reply using reply-to-all button in the mua to forward the reply to the list too, informing the others that you have already reply to the info request. What happens is that there is often someone that forget to use the reply-to-all and reply just to the sender. Is there a way to configure mailman to set the reply to the sender and to the mailinglist together? Thanks in advance for any information, and sorry for my poor english. nginx + fcgiwrap, web interface problems

Hi all, I am trying to configure Mailman on a system using nginx, and fcgiwrap for CGI, according to this guide: http://wiki.nginx.org/Mailman After doing so, I have a problem: The main listinfo page displays, and shows my public lists, but all other links redirect back to listinfo. I can't get to any specific list information page, and I can't get to any parts of the admin for any list. I have run check_perms and nothing is wrong there. There are no errors reported in the web server logs. I suspect that this might be something to do with nginx's fastcgi proxying or something, but I haven't been able to find any solutions. The server is a VPS with several virtual hosts. Mailman works properly, and I can access the admin interface for all the lists using Virtualmin's wrapper script. Of course, I can't give my list moderators the Virtualmin password, so there's still a problem ;-) My nginx config looks like: http://pastebin.com/UzF7bViq Has anyone reading this been successful with Mailman + nginx using fcgiwrap and virtual hosts? mailman installation gone wild

Hello, I'm really struggling to resolve this issue. I'm trying to get mailman working on ubuntu server 10.04, python version is 2.6 When I go to http://[domain]/cgi-bin/mailman/admin I get this message --------------------- Bug in Mailman version 2.1.13 We're sorry, we hit a bug! Please inform the webmaster for this site of this problem. Help with list mail not sending

Hello, I've gone through all the steps in http://wiki.list.org/display/DOC/4.78+Troubleshooting-+No+mail+going+out+to… but I'm still unable to get email to send out on my mailing list. I'm using Postfix and Mailman 2.1.12 on an Ubuntu server. Most things work fine: - Users get subscribe/unsubscribe and welcome emails - Web interface works as expected, can create new lists and the like - Emails sent to the list get added to the archive, viewable through the web interface However, two kind of major things don't work: - Emails sent to the list don't get sent to subscribers - Members can't view the subscriber list through the listinfo page The fact that welcome emails get sent but mails to the list don't baffles me. Making dlist functionality Available to other Groups

Hello Mailman Users, Systers has developed the ability for a user to subscribe and unsubscribe from threads via Dynamic Sub-Lists. We've have gsoc students working on bug-fixes and improvements the last two years and we'd really like to make the feature available to the larger community running 2.1.x. Right now it's a code branch on http://launchpad.net/systers that we use to update our production server via bzr. We've only tested against 2.1.10. Should we make a down-loadable .tgz of the source code? Or is it better offered as a patch to be applied against GNU MM 2.1.10? What is the easiest delivery method for those of you who might want to take a look at the functionality? Questions on subscription page.

Hello, everyone. Please forgive me if my question seems rather basic to most on this list. I am new to Mailman and am just now beginning to implement my own mail lists. I would like to implement my own web page as part of a website I am designing so those interested can subscribe from this page or in case this isn't possible be redirected to another page external to my website where they can subscribe. Do you have any suggestions, instructions and sample designs on how to implement this subscription page that I can use for reference ? My idea is to establish discussion lists that will be semi-moderated and to allow those interested to subscribe automatically so that the process doesn't require my approval. Most lists I have joined in the past have always made the subscription process dependent on the confirmation of an e-mail reply from the e-mail address the subscriber provides at the time of subscription. Is this the way Mailman handles the subscription of new members ? How exactly is this configured ? Thank you in advance for your responses. Joe

Setting Moderation Flag via command line

Hi, I am using the command line to set, or unset a members moderation flag as follows: ./withlist -r set_mod staff -u emailaddress(a)domain.com Is there a way to do this for many members by specifying them with an input file, rather than entering them all in a very long command line?
