cannot send out emails to list members from external email client

I'm running: Mailman 2.0.11 Debian 3.0 Woody running Linux 2.4.18 i686 Exim 3.35 I ran apt-get install for both mailman and exim, so everything is from the debian dist. for 3.0 Woody. I have setup a test list on my.server.com. When I email to the list from my.server.com, it sends it properly to all users on the list. However, when I email the test list from elsewhere, for example, my yahoo email account or my work email, it will go to root(a)my.server.com ONLY, instead of to the distribution list members. Another thing to note: I was never able to get mailman to accept confirmation emails and respond back; I ended up just manually adding emails to the test list. Everything checks out... I went through the FAQ several times, and checked everything. cron is running, check_perms came out with no errors. The logs show nothing is wrong. I did a /usr/sbin/exim -bt test and -d 9 to diagnose everything but it works fine on the server side... it points correctly to the alias. What I'm baffled about is the client side, and why it does not deliver it to everyone on the test list. I'm wondering if this is an exim issue or a mailman issue? Both logs don't give me any clues. Hi, my problem : Using Mailman version 2.0.13 I ve checked the options that is to transform the mail adress to an unreadable format by SPAM engine... But in the archive, the adresses appear in clear... An idea ? Thanks to respond directly, i m not in the list Patrice

Thanks. As far as changing the code, which python module handles then sending out of messages? I'd like to attempt adding a configuration directive that tells mailman to alter the To: to be the member's address, not the list address. I tried one trick, putting the list address in Bcc, but the message bounced because it has an "implicit destination" Ricardo

subscribe members over the web?

Hi, I can't seem to find in the Membership Management section of the web interface, a way to subscribe new members. Can subscription only be done via a request, and not entered in by the administrator? Ricardo

Hello All, I am trying to configure mailman on my server with qmail-1.03. 1. I have compiled mailman with ./configure --prefix=/home/mailman/foo --with-mail-gid=vchkpw --with-cgi-gid =nobody --with-python=/usr/local/bin/python 2. Edit /home/mailman/foo/Mailman/mm_cfg.py DEFAULT_EMAIL_HOST = 'lists.foo.com' DEFAULT_URL_HOST = 'lists.foo.com' add_virtualhost('lists.foo.com', 'lists.foo.com') ALLOW_SITE_ADMIN_COOKIES = 1 3. Set a password for list creation: cd /home/mailman/foo bin/mmsitepass 4. Edit qmail-to-mailman.py. At the top of the file, edit the two configuration variables: MailmanHome = "/home/mailman/foo"; MailmanOwner = postmaster(a)lists.foo.com; But still email are not send to the subscriber when they register not the admin.
