Hide list address?

Hi, Is there any way to configure Mailman such that, for an announcement-only type list, when a message is sent to the list, the To: shows the member's address, rather than the list address? Some list software allows the ability to hide the list address itself, so that address is not advertised. I couldn't find any configuration specific to that.

Where is 'reject' message stored

One of my associates set up content filters to reject attachments and other things. He created a custom message to explain this. Now he wants to change the message, but I cannot locate which file in /mailman holds the text (and I did look at all of them). Can somebody tell me how I could find it. I do know text fragments. Upgrade script broke (not the first time). from Mailman import MailList from Mailman.LockFile import TimeOutError from Mailman.i18n import _ I'm getting error: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/mailman/bin/update", line 51, in ? from Mailman.i18n import _ ImportError: No module named i18n It doesn't balk on the line before, so it doesn't seem to be a path issue. Mailing List Defaults

Hello, all. I have around 300 mailing lists and more going up all the time. For each list I setup, I have to setup some defaults for our company such as listadmin, do not send pass reminders, digest options, etc. My question is, is there a way to set my particular defaults to be the defaults for a newlist creation? So when I create a new list, all the settings that I usually have to go into and change for each and every list would already be there? I have created a custom admin page with just a simple text box with "Create List". this way, only I can get to this page and to add a list, I simply type in the name and hit submit to create the list. If I could get it to have all the defaults I normally have to change and have them setup by default, it would make for no hassle management. If anyone knows where the defaults are stored for a list creation, or how to change all of the defaults, please let me know.

I finally figured out my error - The missing configuration was in mm_cfg.py The mailman list was not defined. Sorry for the multiple post on this. In researching more it seems that Mailman must create an alias in the /etc/aliases file. If this is so does it run the new aliases program? There are entries in this file from Mailman but nothing about the new lists that I created. This must be why they do not work. So what is the fix? How do I make Mailman write to the aliases file and run new aliases, if this is needed? Is there something in Mailman that I missed? Glen
