I'm looking into your Mailman software, and it looks like it's what I need. But where does Mailman grab the list of users? Is it possible that the list be taken from and managed to an ORACLE or SQL server? If this option would be remotly possile please let me know. Stéphane

admin links wrong

If you visit http://www.tertius.net.au/mainman/listinfo/ The para where it says: List administrators, you can visit the list admin overview page to find the management interface for your list. the word "admin" links to http://www.tertius.net.au/admin/ instead of where it should be which I think is http://www.tertius.net.au/mailman/admin/ Conversely if you go to http://www.tertius.net.au/mailman/admin/ the link back to the regular overview page points to /listinfo instead of /mailman/listinfo This is in a slightly old version - 2.0beta5 - but I'm trying to avoid upgrading the box from Debian Potato because it hosts so much stuff and at least like this it's stable :). Corrupted aliases.db?

I'm using Mailman 2.1a2 and Postfix. Creating a new list using the new web interface seems to add the aliases to Mailman's data/aliases (text file) but Postfix is unable to find them and returns the posts with a "user unknown" error message. Yes, I've edited both mm_cfg.py, to add MTA = 'Postfix', and postfix/main.cf to add the path for Mailman's aliases. I've been also trying to make a dump of mailman/data/aliases.db file, but I always get the error shown below. Any help? (other that adding manually the aliases to Postfix aliases file?) [Please copy replies off-list.] Just upgraded to the latest Red Hat OpenSSL packages (via up2date -u, listed below) and I started getting the cron-generated error message below via email. Will linking libssl.so.0 to libssl.so.1 solve it? I have another question too - my mailman cron jobs seems to run extremely regularly, is that normal? They fatten up my logfiles pretty rapid anyway... Announce lists, bounce, weekly intervals

Yes, another in the long line of "announce only" list config questions. The upside is that I already know how to configure the list for the announce only (even got the admin to figure out how to get Oulook to add the "Approved" header so that there are zero implicitly accepted addresses :) My question revolves around the bounce processing. The bounce processing works great, however this client only sends out one announcement a week. This causes some issues wrt the bouncing, ie. what should "max_posts_between_bounces" and the other settings be? They basically want the address removed on the 2nd bounce. It's a little hard to test this in a real situation due to the timeframe invovled, so I was hoping that somebody had a quick answer. Thanks! cdh -- Chris D. Halverson http://www.completeis.com/

manually increasing digest volume number

Howdy, Using Mailman 2.0.5, switching over a bunch of lists (24 so far) from Majordomo, have a question from one of my listowners. He's had a list running for over three years now, so his digests under Majordomo were showing volume 4. Since I upgraded to Mailman, his digest volume number has (as expected) reset to 1. Any way I can manually bump the digest volume to 4? I'm guessing I'd use withlist, but not sure which exact routine to call (and I'm not a Python expert). There also doesn't seem to be a manpage for withlist (or any of the Mailman utils), and the documentation inside the script isn't enough to get me to the place I need to be. Tried searching the list archives, but search.python.org appears to be fubar right now. Any assistance would be appreciated. Progrmatically creating a mailing list?

what Delivery call I need to setup to send out external email address? I get it to send to local address with SMTPDirect....but bounce all the external address... I test qmail.. it work, it send external address.... Thanks Alex
