Too many pending requests?

I can't get to the pending request page for a mailing list. (My web clients just say "waiting for response" and finally give up.) I think it is because there are too many pending requests after some problems. (config.db is almost 10MB.) How can I do this some other way?

SMTP Problem

Hi, i do have a really urgent Problem with my Mailman. Actually everythings working fine except of sending the mails to the list-members. I get following failure in the smtp-failures log: Oct 12 19:49:11 2002 (2292) delivery to Christian(a)malibu-2002.de failed with code 553: 5.3.0 <mailingliste-bounces(a)malibu-2002.de>... No such user here what might be a problem is, that i have activated smtp auth for preventing relaying. can anybody help me? thx Christ

Allowing posts with certain topics/blocking all others

I have a list that I'd like to enforce a set of headers on. In other words, each message subject must start with a certain word in order be posted. Has anybody found a way to do this? I know I can block messages with certain headers, but I want to block all messages and only allow those with the approved headers. If anybody has a great idea how to accomplish this, please pass it on ... -- Sarah

Stop monthly password reminders?

Hi all, Quick question: I've looked through most of the options available to a list admin, and I can't find one to disable the monthly password reminders. I know this sounds like a bad idea, but we have a secretary who maintains quite a few mailing lists for out department, and we'd like to switch her over to mailman. However, we probably don't want students to be able to unsubscribe themselves from certain of our announcement-type mailing lists. Any ideas? Am I missing something simple? trouble shooting question

Hi, My mailman list is host through hostway. It seems that some of the peopple subscribed to my list are no longer receiving emails posted by the poster (the owner-myself) but there is no indication on my end that these messages are being bounced back. Any suggestions as to why this may be happening? --Melinda

More importantly, how to prevent such things as future occurences. Certainly, manually checking and removing the lock may work on a per instance basis, but, in reality, it appears less than ideal. This problem happens way to frequently. Would changing the frequency depending the system of qrunner cron alleviate difficult locks? Message has implicit destination

Hi- I'm a new user of mailman. I have set my parameters so that I do not have to approve any posted messages yet anytime someone posts a message it gets sent to me for approval with the following reason: "Message has implicit destination" How do I correct this problem? Thank you in advance, Rich

First off, I'd like to thank you heartily for the work that you (and other, I assume) have done on Mailman. It is wonderful. I noticed on the wish list a couple of things that I had hoped Mailman can do. I'd like to verify that the current version cannot do these things and find out if there is a workaround. Alternatively, perhaps I misunderstood and simply need to know what I need to do in order to accomplish my objectives. 1. I want my subscribers to be able to subscribe with an email so I can ask them for their email and have my web page automatically subscribe them (after replying to a confirmation email, of course. Just like Yahoo groups works). 2. I want to be able to suppress all the long headers sent out in the messages. Most of my subscribers are totally computer illiterate and that long page of addresses and useful information will just confuse the heck out of them. I wouldn't mind having it at the bottom, but currently they have to scroll to see the actual message - which is not optimum. Can you help?
