Any Idea why I am receiving 2 copies of each message? I have made sure I am not
signed in under 2 different addresses, I have signed out and made sure I don't
get any more messages. But when I sign back on (just once) I get the dupes
again.

I am trying to setup a list where you can email a subscribe request and not
receive any confirmations at all. I am not sure if I am missing a setting,
but I can't figure out how to disable the "the results of your email
commands" notification. I did do some searching before hand and found this
post:
http://mail.python.org/pipermail/mailman-users/2004-January/033757.html
But I would like to see if there is a easy way to do this before I start
commenting code.
Thanks!!!!
Alan
Hi!
I want to change the "from" header of my mailman list. I want that
appears "Short Description <mylist(a)mydomain.com>", but I don't know how
to do it.
Thanks.

All other users of this list can reply to messages normally, but I have
one user that every time he replies, the list admin gets a message like:
-----Original Message-----
From: mailman-bounces(a)ncees.org [mailto:mailman-bounces@ncees.org]
Sent: Monday, November 29, 2004 10:12 AM
To: list-owner(a)ncees.org
Subject: Uncaught bounce notification
The attached message was received as a bounce, but either the bounce format
was not recognized, or no member addresses could be extracted from it. This
mailing list has been configured to send all unrecognized bounce messages to
the list administrator(s).
His user looks like it is set up exactly like all the others. Any ideas
why this might be happening?

When I click the archive link from my admin or general information pages
it returns a 404:
"The requested URL /pipermail/eat/ was not found on this server."
The list name in this example is "eat," by the way. I have a feeling
this is an apache redirect issue, a mm_config mistake or something
similarly brain-dead, I am getting the same result for all lists on this
server. I have tried the faq wizard, but apparently I am equally
incompetent there.
Any hints would be appreciated.
Fellows,
Is there anyway to send a mail to the list server with some comands and the
server send a reply containing all list members?
Thank you all!
Regards,

Hi there,
I know I just bothered the list with my installation problems, but I hope
you all allow me another questions. :-)
I am in the process to get my lists up and running and I do have a little
problem. Is ther a way to either allow a complete list to send messages to
another list they are no subscribed to or open this list to allow anybody no
matter if subscribed or not to send messages to a list?
As said before I am installing mailman for a hockey club and team members
should be able to send messages to each other. So e.g. all men should
subsrcibe to the list "hockeymen" and all women to "hockeywomen". I they
want to send a mail to both men and women I would like them to simply send
the mail to both lists, but they are only subscribed to one of the lists.
Of course I could create a third list "hockeyboth" but this would not be
very userfriendly.
In the adminpanel I have the field "accept_these_nonmembers". Could I set
some kind of wildcard there? What would I have to write? Something like
^*?
Thanks for any help and best regards,
Alex
Hi All,
How should I configure my Mailman list so that it's a moderated list?
I don't see a setting for this. I see two ways to approximate it but both have
problems.
1. I can set every user to moderated. The problem with this is that every time
someone new subscribes I have to set them as moderated. I'm looking for a global
setting.
2. I can turn on emergency moderation. The problem with this is that when a
member who isn't set to moderated posts a message I don't get an email informing
me of the fact. It just sits there on the server until I check for posts.
Is there some way that I can specify that all messages should be moderated, and
get a notification email every time any member posts? Without having to
individually set each new subscriber to moderated?
Thanks,
Douglas
Hi All,
I have an issue with mailman's web interface when I go to mail a list owner, it shows "ssk at vuw.ac.xxxx" as the owner contact (which is correct, except for the @) but when you click URL on this to send an email it appears as ssk-owner(a)vuw.ac.xxxx in the email client applications.
This will not work as xxx-owner@vuw does not exist in the vuw.ac.xxxx domain. What I need the output to be is either ssk-owner(a)mailman.vuw.ac.xxxx which is the lists server or ssk(a)vuw.ac.xxxx which would go directly
How can I set this please?
regards
Steven
Is there a way to control which password a user get when adding users to
a list with add_member?
We would like to give them the same password they use to access other
parts of our system.

Jan
