problem with emails

hi i installed mailman and i think it a good solution for me however, when i send emails to the default mail address none of subscribers gets the email. when i check the inbox of that mail i dont see the emails i sent there - i guess mailman pull them. please advice barnea

My website recently crashed and we are moving it to a new hosting site. Is the mail archive backed up on your server? I would like to rebuild the archive once our site is back up and running. Hello, I'm trying to intake Mailman 2.1.4 on my SlackWare 13.0 system. I configure it with "./configure --prefix=/opt/mailman --with-mail-gid=mailman --with-cgi-gid=www" and see no messages there. 'ack' doesn't work when sending as list rather than sender?

I just figured out that a sender can only get an acknowledgment with 'ack' checked if the list is sending as the sender as opposed to list name. Is there anyway that a sender can get an acknowledgment even if the list is set up this way? -- Christopher Adams adamsca(a)gmail.com

Preventing from getting on spam list

Hello, We are a school district which sends out legitimate messages about school information to parents but last week, we were tagged by spamrats as spammer. An important message did not reach all the subscribers because the local ISP which hosts many of our parents' emails, subscribes to spamrats as one of the anti-spam source. What measures can we take to prevent us from being tagged as spammer again? All our lists are always set to not allow non-members post. Is it even worth $102 annually to be on whitelisted.org? I believe whitelisted.org will drop us immediately out of the whitelist as soon as we somehow trigger the spamrats again. Thank you very much for advice on this matter :-)

I am testing Mailman 2.1.14 via a Debian/Ubuntu package I built from the SourceForge source. I included the "multiple list owner" patch from Mark Sapiro (Fri, 02 Oct 2009 13:11:06 -0700). I created a new list, and I specified two addresses in response to the Enter the email(s) of the person running the list: prompt: user1@example.com,user2@example2.com The list-creation mail was sent to both addresses, but the admin web page shows only the first address as the owner. BATV and Mailman

Hello all, I have had a couple of list subscribers fail to post message to their lists. I tracked down the logs and this seems to be the common theme. I Googled prvs= and found info on BATV. Auto-unsubscribe from other lists

Hello, We have multiple lists that users can subscribe to and one big list that we manually update periodically. Is there a solution for users to subscribe to one list and automatically subscribe to the big list? For the unsubscribe, can the users see all the lists that they subscribe to and choose multiple lists at once? Thank you very much,

security implications for adding apache to mailman group

I'm writing a mailman dashboard page for my company using cgi/perl but in order to get the necessary info I'll need to give apache read access to all the current .pck files as well as any made in the future. What are the security implications of adding apache to the mailman group or just using sudo in my script?
