cookie path

Hello, I'm trying to change the url path for administrating mailman, to use hostname/mailman/admin/listname. apache reflects this as does mm_cfg.py, but when you enter your password the cookie that gets set has the path /cgi-bin/mailman/ (and since that doesn't match the current url, any attempts to do anything result in another password request). I've looked in the obvious places (*.py) and I don't see any variables that still point to /cgi-bin/ (excepting hard drive paths) and SecurityManager.py seems to use the url it's called from (at least that's what I make out of "urlparse(self.web_page_url)" but I'm not a python expert...). news to list, list to news

hi all, at some point before, my list-news/news-list worked perfectly. But now it doesn't. The configuration is 'yes' for 'posts to mailinglist resent to the newsgroup' and 'newsgroup posts not sent from list be resent to list' (i didn't change a thing). i looked in the mailman/logs, maillog, and news logs, but found no errors relating to that. Of course i don't know what i'm looking for, but I did check them for unusuals right after i send a test post, but still nothing. removing address from multiple lists.

I'm looking for a way to remove a user from multiple lists. Currently I'm thinking of using the output of <prefix>/bin/find_member <email@address> and then passing the output of that to <prefix>/bin/remove_users. upgrading from rc1

I scanned the msgs since 2 nov 99 and didn't find anything too specific on upgrading to 1.1 Currently using 1.0rc1 under linux 2.0.32(OLD slackware) I've read: UPGRADING and README and INSTALL Am I correct in that I simply install over the top of my existing rc1 as if this were to be a first time install and then 'make update'? Is there any way to quickly determine which mail and cgi gid's I originally used? apache136 running as web,www. mail group by default is 'mail'. I also have a group called 'mailman' but don't recall if that was used in production or testing during my first attempted install of rc1. ò¿ó ~ Gus ICQ: 762902

Hi, I like to have an address list-on@server for users to subscribe by email. I finally found how to do it: just by adding the following line in /etc/aliases listname-on: "|formail -I 'Subject: subscribe' |/var/lib/mailman/mail/wrapper mailcmd listname" It evidently works with any command you might want to try (-off for unsubscribe, -stop for nomail, etc). * However, I have a problem with mailcmd: it seems that it takes the address * not on the "From:" or "Reply-To:" lines, but on the "From" line. This is * not good behaviour, as this line is quite often not the real email address * of the user, but its POP address. Then adding these lines automatically to the output of bin/newlist is the following simple patch. Restricting access to Listinfo

Is there any way to password protect the lisinfo page that the subscribers get ? I was thinking of protecting it with an htaccess file but I realised that it is controlled with a CGI script , anybody know how to password protect this page so I don't get flooded by strangers requesting to be on a internal mailing list... thanks -- Sincerely, André Giordano Bell Nexxia Inc. Hi all I have recently installed Mailman, migrating from Majordomo, and till now I am happy with the new features Mailman has. Nevertheless, I have found a little problem with the list admin passwords, I cannot always change them from the web interface. I was just only able to change the password of one list once, but it hasn't worked with the other lists since then. Does anyone know how can I effectively change the list admin passwords?
