I was wondering if there was an option to turn on or off the email headers that mailman adds. hiya. I just installed and configured Mailman on a server running RedHat Linux 7.1. The MTA is Postfix, which (I think) is supposed to work like sendmail. I have been over the configurations numerous times, but I can't seem to find what I am missing. When I send a test message to my "test" list, my /var/log/maillog just tells me there's no such user as "test". The MailerDaemon error message says the same thing. Introduction Email

Hi list, I am looking for a way to send an introduction email out to new users on a mailing list. For example to send out the list FAQ and guide lines and a brief welcome message after the user subscribes to the list. Is there a way to do this with the mailman package? If so any help on how to do this would be appreciated. Thanks

smtp error is now fixed

Sendmail was accepting on 199.245.188.13 not 127.0.0.1. My /etc/hosts file had 127.0.0.1 ke6upi.com ke6upi localhost localhost.localdomain. I changed it to 127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain 199.245.188.13 ke6upi.com Thanks for the help, David Shaw

newbie question: is there a 'list or file or db' where the bounce mailaddresses are stored ?

hello all sorry if this was asked before, i could not find an answer to my question. we don't have a list server so far but what we are trying to do is, feed a list server with email-addresses (100.000+ and growing) from our databases. of course not all email-addressee are correct :) so we need a list of bounced email-addresses to update our db's . is there such a list or file in mailman ? thanks in advance lothar

Sorry for the widespread distribution this is getting, but this *is* the address given on the referenced page under "Email Us", so I hope this will get to the right person so this can be corrected. On page http://www.list.org/MM21/faq.html the links: (Stripmime) http://www.phred.org/~alex/stripmime.html. (Demime) http://scifi.squawk.com/demime.html. don't work because they both have a period at the end of the URL.
