RHEL2 doesn't like Python 2.3 out of the box... Python 2.3 wants BerkeleyDB. BerkeleyDB wants jdkgcj ... Greetings, I have recently moved over all our lists to mailman and am having the following issues which I cannot seem to find any option for in the admin menu. When messages come in HTML format, the HEADER text is missing and the FOOTER text comes as an attachment. Some users are also complaining that the whole message now comes as an attachment. How can I fix this ? Subscribe Issue

I'm using iPlanet 6.x and mailman 2.x Everything has been working fine; and I'm not sure anything changed. However at this time when a user subscribes to a list, which allows auto subscription ( no approval ) then a server error is returned. They seem to get subscribed, but they don't get a confirmation page. If they mis-type their password the same subscribe script runs successfully and tells them their passwords don't match. Here are web server log files. [29/Sep/2004:09:54:37] failure (23393): for host 140.211.114.76 trying to POST /mailman/subscribe/hst410, cgi_scan_headers reports: the CGI program /global/a1/data/solaris8/apps/mailman/cgi-bin/subscribe did not produce a valid header (name without value: got line " file "../mailman/logging/logger.py", line 55, in __get_f") Any help would be greatly appreciated. exim+mailman, received mail never goes out

Trying to get Mailman running with Exim4 on a Debian Sarge/testing server. I followed the instructions in README.Debian.gz and README.EXIM.gz (both in /usr/share/doc/mailman/). Attachments

Greetings, I attempted to approve and send a message to my announce-only list that had a .jpg attachment. The message went out, but without the original attachment. The message that came through had the subscription options footer as a .txt attachment. How can I 1) configure mailman to send attachments and 2) avoid having the footer come through as an attachment? Thanks in advance, Fred

Adding massive subscribers

Hello, there. I am using a MailMan system instaled at by the hosting company which offers us the possibily to have mail lists. I have to deliver a little report in a month basis and have 1200+ addresses to add. I have a file (Unix CR+LF format) in my Linux box and before adding it using the MailMan List Administrator web front-end I want to know in wich format the file must be. Comma-separated values, one address by line....? CR-LF Unix or MS-Windows format...? I'll feed the MailMan System using Mozilla for Windows. Moving a list from one server to another

I run a server with several mailman lists on 2.0.6. We have brought a new server online with 2.1.4. I did a quick look at the faqs, but I did not find a decent answer. I would like to be able to preserve both the memberships and attributes of the lists if I could. Possibly a script that would be the analog of dumpdb. I found that copying the config.db (or more specifically the ~mailman/lists/<listname> directory is somewhat problematical. Mailman does convert the config.db to config.pck). Newbie question, I'm managing a list with 1200 members on it. Is it possible to export the membership list (without going to each web page and tediously copy and pasting) to an excel file so I and others can see the entire list? Can I see the entire list of members on one page? Thanks, John

Usiing the withlist command

I'm trying to write a script where I can change the default_member_moderation and accept-these_nonmembers objects, after a new Mailman list is created automatically by a cron process. I've been able to change the "default_member_moderation" as planned, but the "accept_these_nonmembers" object I'm having troubles with. When I try to add an email address, it shows up in the configuration like this: w e b @ i s u . e d u How can I get the whole thing on one line.
